Meet Jackson
Classically trained tenor, performer and vocal coach
Jackson Muir is a classically trained tenor and vocal coach with a Bachelor of Music (Classical Voice) from the Queensland Conservatorium and an Associate Diploma in Singing Teaching.
His musical journey began in the United States, performing with award-winning youth choirs in Michigan and the Grand Rapids Symphony, before moving to Australia to study at the Queensland Conservatorium. His classical training focussed on opera and ensemble performance, including selection for the Lisa Gasteen National Opera Program.
Since graduating, Jackson has performed across musical theatre and vocal ensembles, with roles in My Fair Lady, Chess, Jekyll and Hyde and If/Then. He currently performs with the Chancellor Singers, an ensemble of graduates from the Conservatory and the University of Queensland.
As a coach, Jackson brings together vocal technique, strong musicianship and a thoughtful, individual approach. He enjoys helping singers understand their voice, develop their skills and recognise the progress they are making.
An Individual Approach to Voice Coaching
Every singer learns differently. Jackson's approach is to understand each student's goals, strengths and learning style, and adapt lessons to help them develop at their own pace.
Lessons combine vocal technique, musicianship and performance with clear, practical feedback. Whether a student is building confidence, working through a technical challenge or preparing for an audition or performance, the focus is on recognising progress and finding approaches that work for the individual.
Jackson also welcomes neurodivergent singers and personally understands that people may learn, communicate and process information in different ways. Lessons can be adapted to individual learning and communication preferences, with a supportive and low-pressure approach.
